What we teach

Five core subjects, taught properly

Each subject is taught by a tutor who specialises in it — not a generalist working a chapter ahead of your child.

Maths

From counting bricks to quadratic equations. We fix the gaps underneath the topic your child is stuck on, so the next one lands first time.

Number & algebraTimes tablesFoundation & Higher

English

Phonics and reading for the little ones; language paper technique, essay structure and set texts for GCSE. Handwriting and spelling welcome too.

PhonicsComprehensionLit & Lang

Chemistry

Equations, moles and required practicals made logical rather than memorised. We work through past papers mark scheme by mark scheme.

BondingCalculationsCombined & Triple

Biology

Big topics broken into small ones — cells, organ systems, ecology and genetics — with recall practice built into every single lesson.

CellsGenetics6-mark answers

Physics

Forces, electricity, waves and the equation sheet. We teach the working out, so marks are still there even when the final answer isn't.

How it works

Four steps, and the first one is free

1

Tell us about your child

Year group, subjects, exam board, and what's going well or not. Two minutes on the form below is plenty.

2

Free 30-minute trial

Your child meets their tutor and we find out where they really are. No cost, no obligation, no pressure.

3

We agree a plan

One-to-one, a small group, or a booster course — plus the goal we're aiming at and how we'll know we've got there.

4

Lessons and progress reports

Weekly sessions, homework in between, and a written progress report every half term so you always know where things stand.

Where lessons happen

Two teaching rooms. See them before you book.

Group sessions run at one of our two rooms — whichever is easier for you to reach. Both are air conditioned and set up properly for teaching, not borrowed corners of a café.

Questions

The things parents ask us first

How young do you start?
Key Stage 1, from Year 1 onwards. Early sessions are short and hands-on, built around phonics, reading, number bonds and letter formation — the foundations everything later depends on.
Do you cover our exam board?
Yes. We teach to AQA, Edexcel, OCR, Eduqas, WJEC and CIE, and we're happy to work to any other board — just tell us which one when you enquire and we'll plan from that specification.
Where do lessons take place?
Group sessions run at one of our two rooms: the GXCA Memorial Centre, 8 East Common, Gerrards Cross SL9 7AD, or 9 Walmgate Road, Perivale, Greenford UB6 7LH. Both are air conditioned. One-to-one lessons are taught at home, or online if that suits you better — online lessons use a shared whiteboard so your child can write and be corrected in real time.
How big are the groups?
Six children maximum, grouped by age and level so nobody is bored and nobody is left behind. Most groups run smaller than that.
What if my child needs a subject you don't list?
Ask anyway. Beyond our five core subjects we can often match a tutor for other GCSE subjects and study skills. If we can't do it well, we'll tell you rather than take the booking.
How do I know it's working?
You get a note after each lesson and a written progress report every half term, showing what's been covered, what's improved and what we're targeting next.
